tractorgirl, great to see your virtual face again. got some rest after the day from hell. the plus side was seeing divergent people peacefully come together to exercise their right to one of america's fundamental five star privileges. great weather, carnival atmosphere, people who likely had little in common chatting as if they were lifelong friends. i am losing my field representative, grafted to my hip for the past several months. back to the real world of medical school she goes, but hot damn it sure was fun while it lasted! and another friend will be moving to columbus 5 days a week, having won herself a seat in the state house of representatives. and one more minor detail.....we are moving the u.s. capital to chicago! lol

been surfing overseas news networks, at least the ones with english or spanish editions. amazing how much interest in the american election story is out there. our president elect literally has the whole planet already lining up their job jars of expectations for him. the economy will likely get worse before it gets better, and without progress against instability nothing else will be possible. maybe energy is the common denominator that obama can make his bridge to everybody on the planet. we all need clean air, clean water, and an absence of pollution. tiles will be a little scary, but certainly never boring...yup. junkyarddog

Thanks EGO and JYD for paying attention to what I posted. The point I was trying to make is, if a retired person is saddled with limits and can't escape what the FED. is doing, WHY should a company do the same? Sounds to me it's just HUMAN nature. A little short of redistribution of wealth.
Magnificent Conac .. JYD? .... I WANT A MUDSLIDE!!!

The sanctity of this great nation was violated when a Hindu priest, Rajan Zed, was invited to give the opening prayers at the US Senate.

"Let us pray. We meditate on the transcendental glory of the deity supreme, who is inside the heart of the earth, inside the life of the sky and inside the soul of heaven. May he stimulate and illuminate our minds.
Lead us from the unreal to real, from darkness to light, and from death to immortality. May we be protected together. May we be nourished together. May we work together with great vigor. May our study be enlightening."

As you can imagine, these blasphemous pagan words of peace and enlightenment are a threat to our American way of life. Fortunately, Christian activists were on hand to voice their discontent at this infiltration of polytheism into our Senate* and into our God-given democracy.

Meanwhile, George Washington, Neptune, Venus, and Mercury looked down from atop the Capitol Rotunda in disbelief at this Hindu priest's audacious affront on America's Judeo-Christian monotheistic ideology.

Hank, I hear you. We effectively have different rules for corporations than for private citizens when faced with parallel situations. I understand exactly what you are saying. Should I elect to retire and take early out Social Security, teenie weenie caps on how much net income are in place as to how much money i can immediately make per year are in place. These caps i believe come off later on, but hell who has enough money in the interim to put food on the table and pay the heating bill?JunkyardDog

Boys there is a simple explanation. If you can make more than the limits, dont retire til your 70 when all the caps come off.Their is & either or clause here.No one makes you stop work.If you feel the need, keep working.Maybe you can set a record for most yrs worked before dying without drawing SS.Also your benefit amount will be a good bit larger. One thing about a lot of middle class jobs,is you dont have to be at the top of your game to make big money.I still see lots of old coots dodder across the parking lot to their offices & say good morning to their secretaries before going to their office for a nap. After waking up they say well it looks like time for lunch. Then they go down to the club for lunch & bemoan how the welfare people are collecting money for doing nothing.Oh well the beat goes on.

Damn it Pollie... Will you please put on this hoop skirt so your ignorance doesn't show all the time... My middle Brother has had an office job with ADP for over 25 years now and I'm sure he would gladly trade places with you in a heartbeat shucking clams or getting the crabs or whatever it was you did for a living...

Since he doesn't have dirt under his fingernails or callouses on his hands or horseshit on his boots by your definition he never really "worked"... He just played the system and had his nap in the morning, then went out for his 3-martini lunch, came back and boffed his sect., sogned a few papers and then went home...

As always as the republicans sit around & piss & moan about taxes, the democrats will be left to mop up the piss behind the republicans.Well have to fix the damn economy yet again ,one more time.I get tired of playing nurse maid & showing them how to fix the economy time & again. They just seem a little challenged. They cant quite get the picture that they always leave the economy in shambles before we elect another democrat. Please tell us the last time a republican left the economy or the national budget in better shape than when they were elected.I dare you to show me.I want facts not a damn name. And dont even think about Reagan. That was the master of deception. He never had a balanced budget &left the national debt 4 times as large as it was before he came in & that was with the largest tax increase in history. He taxed Social Security.I haven`t looked to see who was the first to tax unemployment benefits yet,but will today.

Ray,maybe you might be getting the idea of how it feels to be called a leech because your poor. But as always you got the it wrong.I was talking about the old coots. The ones that can still suck a load of money up for doing nothing. Here is an example.Sen Ted Stevens from Alaska40 some years in the senate, same with Ted Kennedy,Byrd from west virginia.Their are quite a few others in the congress in both houses & both aisles. They are being fed by the USA taxpayer & getting hardly anything in return. These guys have enough money.Retire & let a younger person have a chance. No these old assholes are after the last damn dollar.Go down to Wall St & watch the teetering old goats get out of the limos. They no longer need it.They just dont want no one else to have as much. That`s were I say either limits or tax the hell out of them.

Pollie... Didn't realize you were talkin' about our distiguished Senators and representatives...

You're right... Stevens, Kennedy and Byrd have got to go!

How in the Hell those dimwits in Massachusetts keep eleting Ted "the Swimmer" Kennedy every 6 years is one of the bigger mysteries of life...

Wonder how MaryJo Kopeckne's Parents feel about that?

Ray my friend you just wont admit the truth when its in black & white.Theres nothing off the wall about the facts that are written in our annals. The facts about all he fiscal doings are there to be checked. How one choosed to remember a situation & the actual fact are sometimes miles apart.Like I said I voted for Reagan both times.I got suckered into the hype instead of the cold hard facts.Voted for Bush 41 first time. The war & economy sagging under reagan & bush 41 did it for me.Then the numbers started showing up.I said wait a minute. These are rich guys looking out for their counterparts.I chose a governor rom arkansas that was getting a salary of $35,000.Said there`s someone thats just a little more in touch with the poor man.At least he wasn`t 50 yrs removed from cheap wages.Im not voting for someone worth enough to fund the budget for a small country.

And look at Stevens, just convicted of seven felonies. He can run for senate & hold office even being a convicted felon, but being a felon he cant vote for himself.Robert Byrd od W.VA was a member of the klan & an officer for them years back. Are these the kind of people that should be in office for a life time.Kennedy has donated the most of his salary. He stayed because he championed the right of the poor, but his discretion that you speak of should have removed him. i have little tolerance for leeches whether that be the ones on welfare that are using the system illegally or the rich cats that are sucking the life from the economy.I`d like to level the playing field a bit.I dont want socialism, but capitalism needs limitations to make it fair for all.

Now here`s an example of the playing field im talking about. My wife & I wanted to open a diner a few years back.Well every thing we checked with the health department would usually not pass unless it was new & state of the art.Yet restaurants already in existence can use used buy used things or get away with crappy unsanitary practices. The money aspect kept us from relizing something we had worked & planned on for years. As a result from remortgaging the house to get money for this endeavor & being stopped because he health department actually protects the big boys from having competition we are in a precarious position.Over several years I have done some research & found that a lot of code has been written in conjunction of large restaurantuers. So if this isn`t an unfair code tailored to keep mom & pop places out of the competition I don`t know what is.Tell me I feel bad for the big man.I say WHAT????

Pollie... now your STUPIDITY is showing and all the hoop skirts in the world ain't coverin' this one up...

Kennedys "discretion" as you so revoltingly put it cost MaryJo Kopeckne her life! and he was driving frunk! and he managed to get out of the car and left her there to drown before telling anybody what happened...

some discretion Pal...

How would you describe John Wayne Gacys atrocities? merely a slip-up by a troubled youth?

Or how about Ted Bundy? He was just lookin for a little "Friday-night action" and things got a little out of hand?

Then there's always "Son of Sam" he was misunderstood too, I guess

Yes Sir, I love how you Libs can sweep things inder the carpet just by putting the right label on them...

Like a Womans "Right to choose"...

AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT REPLYING TO THAT LAST ONE CAUSE I'LL PUT UP SOME PICTURES THAT'LL MAKE A BUZZARD PUKE!!!

Any way to make a long story short they jerked me around til I fell short of money. That ended about 3 years ago.My wife & I have a lot of restuarant experience. She worked in food for last twenty some years.Waitressed & cooked & prepped.I helped on my days off.We cold have had the business as we are both liked in our community.Hell I would still like to do it.Difference now is with the field & economy lie it is I would stick to carryout & delivery only.
