Morn everyone. Not much happening today.I see a few rumbling in the distance about Hillary replacing Condoleeza.May be a wise move.I was suspecting this possibility when Obama didn`t offer her the VP spot. This would give her a more active position.Rice has had no authority as Sec of State. She has been nothing more than a puppet.

I see the market has given back 300plus points of the 552 point gain of yesterday afternoon.Bush told the republican faction of wall street invests what they wanted to hear. The conservative rhetoric.Come today the reality is starting to sink in.Without salvation for borrowers the retail sector & financial sector is going to sag severly. They are expecting this quarter & the next two to be two of the worst in history. This maybe the prelude of a depression. They shall soon find out what breaking the poor people will acomplish.I think the Dow will likely fall another 3000 to 4000 points. The poor`s fate for the next 3 months have been sealed.

polliesboy, friends, opponents: watching the giant plazma tv in the cocktail lounge before our table is ready for dinner. notice at the early stages meeting of global economic summit that virtually all world leaders in attendance feel awkward being photographed with george bush. barack obama out of respect for current president is not appearing simultaneously, which would have drawn the leaders to him and left bush sitting at a long table all by himself. how we as a nation got into a hole this deep is pathetic. the good news is obama is big on creating alternate energy jobs to fix recession while simultaneously freeing us from arab oil and cleaning atmosphere to address global warming. ....junkyarddog

Well per usual Im in the dog house at SW because of my poorman attitude.I have a mindset that says if the poor do better everyone else will follow. As Clinton said.A rising tide floats all boats big & small.I will forever disagree with the trickle down economics.Has never worked. It is but a ruse to give the wealthy undue advantages to escape paying taxes. After all tax mandates have never been apportioned or structure by the poor people. It has always been passed by the more affluent sect of society.Congressmen & presidents are not exactly common poor people.

Another pet peeve I have. The wealthy seldom serve nor do their children serve on war fronts.Yet they are always the ones that advocate a strong military defense spending. The GOP is always of the same mind.I dont have to be reminded of the purpose of the military, but feel that many need to be reminded of detente & not necessarily battleship diplomacy.I believe that posturing leads to the inevidabilty of armed conflict.

Something else that pisses me to high heaven is the fact that middle class try to cast the poor as being lazy.Maybe they need a touch of being poor so they can get a look at the real world.I Personally know several thousand hard working poor people that have worked or are still working hard at lower paying jobs or self employed.I have know a good bit of the black community also. Most are the same as these people. There might be a hundred or so people in our county of 30,000 that are actually not trying to get ahead & are really bilking the system.I do not stereo type this class as ordinary poor people.

I have a conundrum.I dont object to constructive criticism. What I object to is people propogating false information.I have been involved in an ongoing arguement about the misinformation being posted about taxes. One is the estate taxes. They are now under Bush laws.If you inherit property, after the first $2million you pay 55%.When the laws run out in 2011 you will be paying 55% on everything over the first million. In 2010 you will pay on nothing its a free year. These laws came into effect in 2001 after Bush took office. He extended them 2 yrs past his term as to infringe on the next persons term.Remember this was done with the Republicans in complete control. My adversary is claiming that you`ll be paying on everything from including the first $200K.Even capital gains taxes are not scheduled to take effect until 2011.A erson should not make statements about something they have no understanding about.Doing so & being malicious about the next president is not realy kosher.Even as much as I hate Bush,I do not make false statements.as far as me having the opinion of a conspiracy to fraud the public that is my opinion & shall go to my grave believing this.Another misconception is that lower capital gains for big business is offset by corporate taxes. After many studies it was found there were no correlation between the two.The only affect this is having on me is the direct effect it has on the economy. My wife is getting 12 to 14 hours less each week because of the economy. This slow down & loss of business my cause her employer to close down.If that is the case life will be very tight.

I posted about this over at Stockwire, but i don't think they appreciated the humor of it all.
Search...SUPER OBAMA WORLD. It's a new online video game based on Super Mario Brothers.
Funny stuff. They'll be adding levels as things happen in his presidency. I already got thru the
Alaskan level.

polliesboy: I read {from small screen Verizon Voyager} while quickly scanning your posts that you had a conundrum, and on first impression thought you said "I have a condum." Or "condominium." Anyway I wanted to tell you at first "Hell, polliesboy, I happen to have had BOTH, but gee whiz I also took the time to learn to USE them." lol, JunkyardDog

Yeah,me too.I have one particular fellow I feel needs one stretched over his head.He invited me back to stockwire, then promptly started with the inuendos & false info on Obama & taxes. He knew he was going to chafe me,but just had to do it.When he couldn`t stand the heat in the kitchen that he created he became indignant & tried to sever communications. That`s OK by me.I have a thing about me.If I choose to take part in an arguement,I`ll usually know what Im talking about .It wont be a bunch of shit I read in emails or heard at the local breakfast nook or coffee shop.I generally read instead of looking at or posting a bunch of BS pictures or try being cutsey.I wasn`t in that group in high school & still am not worried about being in a popularity contest. It`s just too damn juvenile for me.

Polliesboy, arguments should be met by rebuttal arguments, not sophomoric pictures or profanity. And your critics should have the guts to stick around for the counterpunches, and not shamelessly run to another website. Sometimes we do not agree, but you ALWAYS earn my respect because you play by the rules. JunkyardDog

Polliesboy, the president says he is going to encourage alternate energy companies. Does that mean that soon I can get extra energy? Because by Thursday afternoon of most weeks, I am draggin' my wagon....lol JunkyardDog

I know what you mean.Anyway something that concerns me is the fact that the president nor any of the big three auto maker CEOs today mentioned CNG as an alternate fuel choice.this is of great concern to me.Everything I have read or heard makes me think this should be the fuel of choice.I dont understand. There must be something that doesn`t immediately meet the eye.Pickens said if it was used by big rigs alone it would cut our foreign dependency by 70%.That more than enough to give the middle east the boot.It would also eliminate Venzuela. This alone would be a world changing event.Im going to explore further into this to see if there`s something Im missing to disqualify CNG as the alternate fuel of choice.Detroit is exploring electric, but that is too limited in applications requiring long distance & weight resistance.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in S. California a lot of the
public transportation companies have or are switching over to CNG.

Pipa: In the Midwest some of our bus lines are converting to recycled or synthetic fuels. Yesterday I got behind a bus full of homeward bound commuters, and suddenly I realized something odd.....the smell of french fries started filling up my car! Turns out recycled cooking oil is processed into biodiesel.

Anything that is gasoline or regular diesel is a help. The green effect is a help, but my main concern is getting away from foreign oil & oil altogether.Since trucks have extra storage room they are the ideal to get started with & the infrastructure can be easily started by equipping truck stops. The truckers will reap many added benefits in less oil changes & cleaner engine parts. It will extent the life of their engines by hundreds of thousands of miles.Beauty is all the fuel can be produced right here & none of the money goes out of the country.

I been following the banking situation & the auto industry & economy closely over quite a bit.I convinced that banking is not in as dire a straights as they may be feigning.I think they are just looking for cheap money in a lot of cases.Only a portion of the mortgages failed. The good paper should more than offset the percentage that is bad.Even then they do not have to take a complete write down or loss. They can make drastic modifications that will still allow an infusion of cash into their accounts in many cases. They are not trying hard enough because they think they can leverage & extort money from the government.People that can pay 600 or 700 per month towards their house loans are better than the government giving money to these companies.

Had to get away from stockwire before I throw up.Bunch of money grubbers.Nothing matters to them but the bottom line.Aint neither one of them got a chance at breaking their earthly bounds Im afraid.Jeez I know thats the reason I play stocks, but Im just not that much of a fanatic or lunatic. If goverment cut to the bare bones you wouldn`t have much more. Then no one would pay the amount they do for wages or anything else.Your only going to get so much. The guys just can`t see the forest for the trees. They worry about something they cant take with them. One serious illness can take every thing they own & put them on welfare.Remember them insurance companies only go so far then you will be damn glad the government has all those programs.Damn bunch now calling Social Security welfare.F**king idiots.

Polliesboy: Money is important in life, but not as a goal in and of itself. It is only a tool, just like a gun is a tool, and neither good nor evil in and of itself. Greed is just another form of selfishness, and selfishness is basically what causes what theologians refer to as "sin." If and only if we as a society and as neighbors to other people and our environment
learn that we all are in this "life" fishbowl together will we ever have a chance of survival. jmo, JunkyardDog
