polliesboy, i have been too busy carting folks to the polls for extended hour early voting to tap dance with your critics. i confess i had originally planned a shorter more conventional day, but i felt it was better to do positive things than to argue with folks whose minds were already made up. ohio will likely be squeaky close and we have only a wing & a prayer hoping that the ballot machines operate flawlessly. virginia should be the first battleground state to give some indication which way the country may be headed. i am noticing extraordinary activity all the way down the ticket, with extra interest in races for sheriffs, commissioners, local judges. damn, this level of interest might just be a good thing. junkyarddog

I have a question. Why is it that Obama is labeled as black. He is after all half white. What makes every one think that he thinks completely like one color or the other. Now lets see Im part Idian, part english, irish, scot, welsh& part german. Now which would you call my thinking. Can I relate to he minorities?Damn right.Indians were killed for their land & herded onto reservations by these same damn factions that think the other minorities should have no rights.Oh & ladies these are the same damn people that said you didn`t have a right to vote like other people born in America. My indian ancestors didn`t have a right to vote either ,but died for this country in times of war just as black people have for the last 150 yrs.My indian ancestors used the cherokee language for code in the WWII that was never broken. They were the guys that were always exposed to front line action or covert observations. They worked the high steel of the skyscrapers because they were fearless. And now some frigging redneck is going to tell me Im not as fit to lead this country as his dumb ass.Right, that could happen.Better keep his hat on.He may be baldheaded instantly.LOL.Anything you can point out bad about one race, the anglo saxon(white caucasion) race can top them in atrocities. There has been no one any bloodier than the english or scots. How about the burning at the stake for those accused of heresy. The witch hunts old old salem.Shall I go on.Now tell me who is any more danderous than the people that turn on their own.To me they are the wickedest of all.

JYD,I was just remarking a few days ago. When you see a heavy turn out & a lot of new interest its a sign of change.People say Ive had enough of this crap. We`ll do a 180°turn.I do believe that people are disgusted with the Republican politics for now. They likely put the democrats in til they start doing good again & some republican will come along & promise to make things better by cutting taxes.I say when you have something that works, leave it the hell alone.People weren`t happy with a good economy under Clinton, they got greedy.Well just like the stock market "Greed Kills".

polliesboy, people i talk to all over the country feel depressed visualizing mccain palin in the white house, too similar to business as usual. but they simultaneously feel anxiety about obama biden, the fear of the unknown. the issue is will the comfort of the known commodity trump the gnawing need to change course & take our chances. just my opinion. junkyarddog

Ego I was noticing that McCains home state of Arizona(7.4) has a much higher murder rate than Obamas home state of Illinoise(5.9).Them damn guys that send those email statistics around should do some research before opening a new can of worms.

JYD,I think that people are fed up enough of the economy, the threat of high oil prices again & fed up with cover ups & damn lies to give the old party the boot.If Gore had run it would be so lopsided they could just called the slaughter rule & conceded defeat to democrats.Had Gore not been crooked in Florida in 2000,this country would not have been in this shape.I also believe there would not have been a 911 incidence.I believe that was direct retribution against the Bush family for dessert storm.

Pollie... Here's a two-fer! Republicans AND Roman Catholics--the Pope!!!

Enjoy, my friend!!!

The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the Rugged Mountains of Alaska for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the campground in the Popemobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods.

A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a 'Save the Whales' hat, and a 'To Hell with Bush' T-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically and thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10-foot grizzly.

As the Pope watched in horror, three Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a 44 magnum into the bear's
chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semi-conscious Democrat from the bear's grasp.

Then using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat of their all terrain vehicle.

As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. 'I give you my blessing for your brave actions!' he told them. 'I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democrat environmental extremists but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true.'

As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies, 'Who was that guy?' 'It was the Pope,' another replied. 'He's in direct contact with Heaven and has access to all wisdom.'

'Well,' the logger said, 'he may have access to all wisdom but he sure doesn't know anything about grizzly bear hunting ! By the way, is the bait holding up or do we need to go back to Massachusetts and get another one?

with my sincerest thanks to my younger brother... you know, the ugly not-so-bright one...

I loved that one about the bear hunt Ray.The 9.8 is courtesy of Baltimore & suburbs of DC.Drug related crime is rampant the country over. You want to see some killing.Look at the border cities of texas & mexico. One of them Mexican towns next to the USA boder had 42 killed in one month. There`s where our troops should be.There`s more terrorisms from drugs than the middle east can ever think about.Wonder why the world doesn`t want to be like us anymore. We kill more people, waste more natural resources & money, have more prostitutes, gays & arethe biggest aggressors in the world. What`s not to love?We are a shining example,HUH?

polliesboy, i know your critics are big "right to bear arms" advocates. personally i like to even up the playing field, and make hunting more sportsmanlike. so i am in favor of the "right to arm bears." let's see how brave these macho men are out in the woods, if the bears have access to full concealed carry privileges. in my world, bears would pack the colt python elite, known by gun lovers everywhere as "the rolls royce of handguns." can't deal with the animal issue, however, until i get back to bigrayyy. i think he wants to borrow my own python elite, so in the event that obama wins next tuesday he can go to his basement and put himself out of his misery......junkyarddog

Good Sunday morning gentlemen. Although I am on vacation, I had to check in to feed my addiction and to be sure I don't backslide into my one dimensional view of the world.LOL

We are in Savannah, GA today headed for Daytona later. Interesting last night as we walked around this beautiful town, coming down the road we started hearing chants. As they got closer we could undertand they were chanting "O B A M A"..what's that spell..etc... It was a group of about 15 "kids" on bicycles probably about 18-20 years old just riding around and yelling different mantras in support of Obama. Then there was this lone voice that started yelling "McCain..McCain..McCain". Pretty funny! I have tried to really pay attention to signs and bumper stickers as to maybe get a little feel for what others are saying...we determined it is a 50/50 split.

Anyway...hope everyone has a good Sunday. :)

polliesboy: sunday morning, 02 november 2008. having finally gotten to sleep, i was having the greatest dream, not counting sexual fantasies, which we all know are the achilles heel for most of us. in my dream, this neverending election was over. keep in mind that if you include the "foreplay" {another sexual fantasy metaphor} we as a nation have been screwing around with the presidental selection peocess for approximately two years. the dream included work for everybody who was serious about wanting to work, peace of mind about our country's future due to smart sane national defense policy, and weekends where all of us learned that fishing was the great equalizer and source of perspective. then the alarm clock went off. the television went on, and the guy with the big ears from chicago was still at opposite ends of debate tables from the silver-haired guy from arizona. i felt my peace of mind slowly slipping away. so many doors to knock on, so little time! junkyarddog

tractor girl! i was getting worried about you, thinking that perhaps your family had you involuntarily institutionalized until you came to your senses and entered a 12 step group to purge politics from your system! savanna is one beautiful city, the old southern flavor seems so innocent and pure. georgia is familiar to me as well, i love brunswick, sort of a jeckyl's island only affordable and without the commuting and tourist-related issues. still can feel the sand between my toes, holding my daughter by her index fingers as she "walked" in front of me, giggling and chasing seagulls. seems like yesterday, not a baker's dozen of years ago. scroll back, you can see that we are even wackier without you! junkyarddog

My foreplay reached a climax yesterday when ray Posted the dumb email about chicago vs iraq death rate. Then come to find out the murder capital of the USA is McCains home state of Arizona. How sweet it is!!!I have come to find that whatever McCain swift boat campaign & his dumb ass constituents accuse Obama of doing, its a good chance that McCain or palin are the actual perpentrators.Touche'

We have just found out that Obama is good to his word about putting people to work. They have had to put a hundred body guards to work.Only problem is there`s so many trying to kill him they don`t believe they have job security.

My friend Ray lets the GOP do his research. After all they would not lie.Just ask "Im not a crook" Nixon.LOL
