Gee, I wonder if I would qualify cause I'm Catholic??? Last I heard us Papists weren't too high on their list but things may have changed for the better.

Just came across this in my travels, one of the more frightening things I've ever seen! Great Britain, the "cradle of Western civilization" has descended into the abyss so far that they may never return.

Where are the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery, Queen Victoria and Prime Minister Margeret Thatcher?

They are all spinning in their graves...

Wimpy Brits and scary Sarah

High puckamuck Sarah Palin is quite scary. British politicians, in contrast, are wimpy. Caitlin Moran likes it that way.

In the UK, the continuing revelation of Palin's autobiographical facts have been reported with a nervous, blinky amazement. She named one of her children - Piper - after a make of snow plough! She believes that victims of incest or rape should be denied abortion! She thinks the world was made in seven days! She regularly kills things - not like just wasps, or even a chicken - but stuff like bears! And mooses!

Imagine if there was a British candidate for Deputy Prime Minister who had a child called “JCB”, believed raped children should endure labour, dismissed evolution and regularly shot gigantic animals. It would be regarded as borderline sectionable behaviour.

In America, however, it makes them even hotter for Palin. To be crude, a tough chick with great hair who shoots things - that just turns America on. They like the idea of politicians who could hold their own in a bar brawl.

This is one of those instances of international nuance where you see that the Atlantic Ocean should, really, be renamed The Aesthetic Gulf. It's the same difference in US/UK attitude that became apparent around the time of the Millennium Bug. In America, survivalists in Minnesota built a whole, self-sufficient underground complex, complete with air-filtration system and hydroponic greenhouses. In the UK our most high-profile Millennium Bug planning came from Richard Madeley and his Millennium Cupboard - in which he placed tinned sardines, Wet Wipes and a torch.

And you know what? Along with Doctor Who and Cardigan Bay and flapjacks, this makes me proud to be British. We're utterly wet and a weed. Hurrah! I like the fact that - without ever talking about it - we all decided we didn't, actually, want to survive the Apocalypse. Because, yes, we'd be alive - but in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, full of buff, shouting American survivalists. The British are only into living so long as it's civilised and pleasant. As soon as we have to poo in a hole and lose reception of BBC4, we're quite happy to become extinct. We are not into all this forceful, effortful, yippy, yappy, living-and-winning-at-any-cost stuff. We don't want ripped, renegade leaders, like Gerard Butler in 300, shouting, “Tonight, we dine in Hell!” We want someone who is, ultimately, very good at accounts, shouting, “Tonight, we dine in the dining room!”

[...]

So when I look at our uniformly mild, paunchy, metrosexual British politicians, it makes me swell with both pride and relief. I love that David Cameron's idea of all-out war would be shouting, “You've really got my dander up, you grotty little man” as he cycled past his enemy's house. Nick Clegg looks like he'd whimper, “Don't touch my beautiful face” if someone brought out a flick-knife in a subway. Even our hardest politician - John Prescott - is a man who merely hit another man, once, and would refer to a gun as an “automatic revolvamator”. Sarah Palin would shoot him, skin him and turn his head into a handbag in under a minute.

True, but she'd be no match for Margaret Thatcher in her heyday

This 1912 political cartoon by C. Budd shows Bull Moose party candidate Theodore Roosevelt inviting voters to his wigwam. Roosevelt had said that he felt as fit as a bull moose when he launched the Progressive party with himself as presidential candidate after becoming impatient with Republican president Taft's cautious approach to reform. Roosevelt won 27% of the popular vote in the 1912 election, running ahead of Taft but losing to the Democratic candidate, Woodrow Wilson. (The Bettmann Archive)

Intolerant groups come from every quarter of the population... being a civil rights activist i've been getting this publication since it was called The Klan Watch back in the 60's... over the years it has included all hate groups the need to be kept in view.

'Ready for War'
Thousands Join Militant Black Supremacists
Intelligence Report
Fall 2008

Around the country, thousands of men and women have joined black supremacist groups on the extremist fringe of the Hebrew Israelite movement, a black nationalist theology that dates back to the 19th century. Its doctrine asserts that African Americans are God's true chosen people because they, not the people known to the world today as Jews, are the real descendants of the Hebrews of the Bible. Although most Hebrew Israelites are neither explicitly racist nor anti-Semitic and do not advocate violence, there is a rising extremist sector within the Hebrew Israelite movement whose adherents believe that Jews are devilish impostors and who openly condemn whites as evil personified, deserving only death or slavery.

The notorious white supremacist leader Tom Metzger once remarked of extremist Hebrew Israelites, "They're the black counterparts of us." The belief system of extremist Hebrew Israelites is basically the reversed-color mirror image of the Christian Identity theology embraced by many white supremacists, which holds that mainstream Jews are the descendants of Satan and that white people are the chosen ones, divinely endowed by God with superior status over "mud people," believers' term for non-white individuals.

You know was jst watching the history channel.there was a show on about 911.There are a hell of a lot of people like myself that think Bush was involved with the masterminding of this tragedy.Ive always suspicioned him. think he was trying to get the people to rally behind him while he was pursuing his own personal agenda.Bush was looking to start a war in the middle east to control the oil there. What he really ended up controlling was the price.which was what he really wanted anyway. This was a really good subterfuge as while they were getting rich off oil the banking industry was stealing money on another front.I really believe the wealthy are using the GOP party to undermind democracy. There`s a lot of examples that can be construed to support that theory. The economy has to be sabotaged first in order to achieve this end.Well thats been done very systematically.Fortunately the GOP got sloppy. They just cant help theirself. They derailed their effort for another term by being chinchy with their own money.they tried to save their money by getting McCain to take public financing.Screwed theirselves. They have a penchant for spending public money & being tight with their own.HaHa.The terrorists are not in Iraq,Iran or the stans. It is in the whitehouse now.

Ego,I have a problem with hate groups. They have tunnel vision. It`s the only way they have of giving their life meaning. Its makes them feel superior & makes up the inferiority complex they have because of lack of education for the most part. The less education people have the easier it is to channel their emotions.

Pollie we should all have a problem with hate groups and hatred. And unfortunately, ignorance thrives in the educated as well.

Anytime human beings have an "US AND THEM" attitude, it promotes and creates the "other" which is so very easy to hate and encourages dangerous behavior. If allowed to go unchecked and ill defined, that attitude only festers into ignorant hatred and violence. i think as a species and individuals we have the capacity to transcend our differences but because of our insecurities, not the will.

And while we're on the topic...

Not All White Supremacists Oppose Black President
By Heidi Beirich and Mark Potok

With the nomination of Barack Obama as the Democratic presidential candidate clinched, large sections of the white supremacist movement are adopting a surprising attitude: Electing America's first black president could be a very good thing.

It's not that the assortment of neo-Nazis, Klansmen, anti-Semites and others who make up this country's radical right have suddenly discovered that a man should be judged based on the content of his character, not his skin. On the contrary. A growing number of white supremacists, and even some of those who pass for intellectual leaders of their movement, think that a black man in the Oval Office would shock white America, possibly drive millions to their cause, and perhaps even set off a race war that, they hope, would ultimately end in Aryan victory.

"He will make things so bad for white people that hopefully they will finally realize how stupid they were for admiring these jigaboos all these years," "Darthvader" wrote on the neo-Nazi Vanguard News Network (VNN) web forum. "I believe in the motto 'Worse is Better' and Obama certainly fits that description." Another poster on the same thread this summer chimed in with this: "I hope Obama wins because in four years, white people just might be pissed off enough to actually do something. … White people aren't going to do a thing until their toys are taken away from them. So things have to be worse for things to be better."

"Oh man," enthused "Centimanus" on the white nationalist Stormfront website. "I am gleefully, sadistically looking forward to Obama as president. … It will be a beautiful day when the masses look at the paper and truly realize they have lost their own country." Added "Fulimnata": "To the average white man and woman, they could look at Obama and see plain as day that whites are not in control."

The Leaders Weigh In
Figures from the white supremacist establishment seem to agree with the crudely put sentiments of their followers. David Duke, the neo-Nazi and former Klan boss who is the closest thing the movement has to a real intellectual these days, sees clear advantages in an Obama victory in the fall.

"Obama will be a signal, a clear signal for millions of our people," Duke wrote in an essay entitled "A Black Flag for White America" posted to his website this summer. "Obama is like that new big dark spot on your arm that finally sends you to the doctor for some real medicine. … Obama is the pain that let's [sic] your body know that something is dreadfully wrong. Obama will let the American people know that there is a real cancer eating away at the heart of our country and Republican aspirin will not only not cure it, but only masks the pain and makes you think you don't need radical surgery. … My bet is that whether Obama wins or loses in November, millions of European Americans will inevitably react with new awareness of their heritage and the need for them to defend and advance it."

Isn't that a scary possibility...

Poeple like David Duke exist not to champion the rights of white people but to feather his own nest.Duke has run for office time and again knowing he can not win.He has a little caveat of his own in the use of left over campaign funds. If you go back some years & check his finances & how the leftover campaign funds were disbursted you`ll see were he was able to make a living running for office.Im not sure if this was just an idiosyncracy of the Louisiana laws or if it was just from before the last campaign fund reforms. At any rate this kept the radical right alive & well for years longer than normal.Meetings are now held in a more clandestine setting that resembles business meetings. This is more money oriented than actual rights movements. The Imperial Wizard is now a high paid Officer Of The Klan. This is the reason they keep this alive.

Obama: Most Secretive Democratic Candidate Ever

Wednesday, October 22, 2008 7:58 PM

By: David A. Patten

Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign says his campaign will bring a new level of honesty and transparency to the White House. Obama proudly touts that he and Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla, passed a law requiring more transparency via a public database of all federal spending.

But when it comes to offering the public documents about his own public and private activities, Obama’s record for openness gets an "F" grade.

During the heated Democratic primary, Obama complained of the Bush White House being “one of the most secretive administrations in our history” and chided Sen. Hillary Clinton for not releasing her White House schedules.

Ironically, Obama, just days away from possibly being elected president, continues to stonewall a growing chorus of information requests for documents about his legislative, personal health, education, financing, and background -- leaving many voters to cast ballots based on incomplete information.

And serious questions about his past continue to swirl as Election Day looms, fueled in part by his own campaign’s refusal to make relevant documents available.

And the press, usually banging at the door for candidates to make “full disclosure” is strangely quiet about Obama’s stonewalling.

A Newsmax survey of key Obama aspects of Obama’s public and private life continued to be shielded from the public.

Among the examples:

Obama has released just one brief document detailing his personal health. McCain, on the other hands, released what he said was his complete medical file totaling more than 1500 pages. After criticism on the matter, last week the Obama campaign also released some routine lab-test results and electrocardiograms for Obama. All test results appeared normal, but many details about his health remain a mystery.

Obama has refused to offer his official papers as a state legislator in Illinois, and has been unable to produce correspondence, such as letters from lobbyists and other correspondence from his days in the Illinois state senate. There are also no appointment calendars available of his official activities. “It could have been thrown out,” Obama said while on the campaign trail during the Democratic primary. “I haven’t been in the state Senate now for quite some time.”

Obama has not released his client list as an attorney or his billing records. Obama has maintained that he only performed a few hours of legal work for a nonprofit organization with ties to Tony Rezko, the Chicago businessman convicted of fraud in June. But he has not released billing records that would prove this assertion.

Obama won’t release his college records from Occidental College where he studied for two years before transferring to Columbia.

Obama’s campaign refuses to give Columbia University, where he earned an undergraduate degree in political science, permission to release his transcripts. Such transcripts would list the courses Obama took, and his grades. President George W. Bush, and presidential contenders Al Gore and John Kerry, all released their college transcripts. (McCain has refused to release his Naval Academy transcript.)

Obama’s college dissertation has simply disappeared from Columbia Universities archives. In July, in response to a flurry of requests to review Obama’s senior thesis at the Ivy League school, reportedly titled “Soviet Nuclear Disarmament,” Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt told NBC News “We do not have a copy of the course paper you requested and neither does Columbia University.”

The senator has not agreed to the release of his application to the Illinois state bar, which would clear up intermittent allegations that his application to the bar may have been inaccurate.

Jim Geraghty of the National Review has written extensively about Obama’s unwillingness to release records related to clients he represented while he was an attorney with the Chicago law firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill, and Gallard. Obama was required to list his clients during his years in the Illinois senate. “Obama listed every client of the firm,” Geraghty reported, making it impossible to discern which clients he represented.

Obama has never released records from his time at Harvard Law School.

Obama also has not disclosed the names of small donors giving $200 or less to his campaign. An exception to the finance-reporting laws exempts the campaign from reporting those who donate less than $200, but that law never envisioned the more than $300 million that has been raised by Obama in small amounts. The Republican National Committee has released its small donors, as well as McCain’s, on a public database.
On several occasions, the Obama campaign has offered to provide additional information to reporters if they have specific questions or issues. And in some cases, it has done so.

When Internet rumors began to fly that perhaps Obama was born outside the United States, for example, the campaign released images of a birth certificate that verified his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii. When that led to suggestions the birth certificate had been altered, the campaign again responded, allowing reporters to examine the actual birth certificate, complete with raised seal. (In late July, according to FactCheck.org, a researcher uncovered an announcement of Obama’s birth in the August 13, 1961 edition of the Honolulu Advertiser).

Such instances of cooperation pale, however, compared to the many unanswered questions surrounding Obama, such as the financing of his education, and requests for the complete release of all donors to his campaign.

Of course, candidates are often reticent to disclose any information that opposition researchers could use against them.

But Politico.com notes that the Obama’s failure to share documents is “part of his campaign’s broader pattern of rarely volunteering information or documents about the candidate, even when relatively innocuous.”

The hue and cry from the media for disclosure usually forces candidates to release sought after documents. But the press has largely acquiesced to Obama’s stonewalling

As I understand its not a matter of not being able to find these documents. Its a matter that they cant access them without Obama`s permission. With the way they have embrace editing every fact they can find by omission of complete sentences I dont blame him for not releasing them.He has apparently release all pertinent information necessary to quaifying to get on the ballot for president.
