I`ve heard the finger being pointed at government intervention & changes in regulation as being the culprit behind the financial meltdown.I say bull.No one but wall street policy makers caused this.Know one put a gun in these bankers ribs & made them make bad loans.

Hence no accountability for writing loans to people with marginal or no credit, the profit was exclusively in initiating the loan. It was not government, but lack of government, that caused the problem. Junkyarddog,this is exactly what I am saying.Its actually a moral decission made by the greedy trying to exploit the lack of supervision.I will never understand how people can be this amoral.Its just not in my make up.They are preying on people that are in a less fortunate position.There are a lot of people that understood exactly what they were getting into,but the temptation to live better for a while overshadowed their better judgement.Some realized the bubble would burst & just said Im just as well get some of the money before it runs out.Some were like investors that buy into equity stocks to late & get caught holding the bag as the equity just keeps eroding.At any rate the people that practiced unscrupulous lending criteria before writing the loan they were going to sell should be brought up on charges.They knew exactly what they were doing including their crooked third party appraisers.The underwriters didn`t do their homework either.They also passed the buck.A lot of these mortgages were sold multiple times in several years prior to the ARMs adjusting.It was a conspiracy that went throught the hiearchy of many fiancial institutions & anyone that was prone to blow the whistle was either fired or threaten as being implicated in the fraud.The penalties for these white collar crimes are not harsh enough to deter the crimes.They pull for or five yrs most of the time & probation in a lot of cases.They should be facing 25 or 30 years & have to pull at least 60% of the time.They should have to pull their time in normal state prisons instead of federal hotels like leavenworth.

They are saying McCain is some type of leader in the senate.I can find no such designation.

Looks like the dems will make the republicans shoulder their share of the blame if the bail out don`t work.If republicans don`t cross the aisle & vote with the dems it aint goe to happen.The dems can pass it any time they want, but will not take the blame for having to clean up the other parties neglect.

Well to who won the debate tonight.All will have a different opinion as to who your canidate was going in.Now for all those that took exception of Obama having his hands down when they played the national anthem.Obama was wearing a U.S flag pin in his lapel.McCain had none.Now lets address that picture showing McCain with his hands in front of him.They had not yet started playing the anthem.So another thing twisted.

Hey! Watch out- I am a REPUBLICAN..You know I had very little when I was young-I have saved and did without many times to save a dollar..well I saved allot of dollars and why should my taxes increase because I now have some money-I did not buy new cars and expensive clothing-jewelry--charge charge cards-gold teeth. Why should I pay for the poor that did not get a education-did not plan ahead--did not save for a retirement. I hate the fact that I worked so hard to get where I am at-I did not go on any type of assistance-food stamps-free education..I worked..3 jobs..and for the soon to be President (which will be a D) to say I need to help some that is less fortunate...that does not get it-because that person more than likely is a lazy-mooch always looking for a hand out..I have worked very hard---I live in a nice home and drive a nice vehicle...I believe--you don't work then you do not eat...I actually am sick thinking what is down the road for some of us. People can't tell me you can't do it because you can..save..plan ahead. Darn- I am upset...

Interesting -- people are so brainwashed into thinking the "earning" of a living is strictly via working away one's life. No wonder corporations are able to take advantage if us. We actually BELIEVE this crap...

Well,I`ll say this,if working hard is the criteria for being rich,I should have more than Buffet or Gates.I dont have much,but for someone to call me lazy or a hell of a lot of other people I know in the same boat is a complete lack of sensitivity.I hope you are judged by the same measures at being a humane being.It does however show you have lived out of touch with the real working world.People the real working world does not sit behind a desk,wear suits & high heals to work.The people that produce your eats & energy & your dwellings wear overalls,get dirty & have callouses on their hands.I really don`t care to hear your overpaid butts whining about taxes.The leeches of society seem to do the least work & the most whining.If my terminology seems a bit rough,remember how you came out of the gate.You came with the appearance of being greedy & self righteous like your the only one in the world that has worked or sacrificed.I`ve seen a plenty of abject poverty in my time.A few was self inflicted,but how about the woman for instance who was married had three little kids & the husband takes off for parts unknown.Did she cause her circumstance.Should her kids be subject to the no work no eat rule or should they not have a chance at an education.A loy of people need a little come uppance & eat some humble pie.There`s a saying people would do well to remember."There,but by the grace of god go I".Think you can insulate yourself & put your self in a class above others simply because of a few bucks.Better think again.A stroke or any number of other ailments can make you less than equal in the bat of an eye.You have no control of that,because it was decided the moment you were concieved.I hate having to remind people who they are.

One thing I heard McCain say last night that damn near made me keel over.He said that he would cut the defense budget.How can he do that & send more troops to Afghanistan?He has supported everyone of Bush`s budget with extra defense increases.Which face was he speaking out of last night.The man more personalities than Sybil.

I guess its just the libera in me,but I think children & unfortunate people should be fed,even if that means being fed by the people that have horded the wealth of the world & would deny a child a bed or warmth.How different it must be in their ideallic world.Their no work,no eat mantra.Does that mean that once you have gotten to old to work you should do without food.If you are no longer working should you be allowed to keep your wealth.Remember now if your not working you are low life & not entitled even to the air you breath.Funny how you can twist things.One thing for sure is the people that have wealth think they should be the rule makers for everyone else.

I heard a real hoot from McCain last night.He said he`d freeze government spending.Now thay was done under Nixon.That was the biggest fiasco ever attempted by a president.Greatest amount of inflation ever was spawned by that one.If you freeze government spending you also have to freeze the population.Of course that was another of McCains faces or personalities.I can`t figure what the hell category he falls in.Hes a ultra left wing conservative or right wing liberal.He just has one hell of a problem telling his conservative party that he is lying to the poor & middle class to get their vote & has no intention of ever carrying out any plan to help anyone other than the rich.This man has never experience a day of being poor since he was born.How can he identify with anyone but the elite?Thats the only life he has known other than his time spent in captivity.Even then though he didn`t take them,he was offered early release because of who his family was.McCain was one of several million that serve their all to duty in Vietnam.He was one of the fortunate unfortunate.By that I mean he was in captivity for 5 1/2 years,but at least he came home walking upright unlike some severely crippled & 56,000 that came home in body bags.He came home & has been fortunate to be repaid for his experience in a prison by having 26 yrs in congress.Had he not been a prisoner of war it is doubtful he would ever been elected to congress.

Let me put a little thought in the wind.Now these are true assumptions from factual budget numbers.Our overall budget for 2007 was 2.5 trillion dollars.Of that amount,the defense spending was 1.75 trillion dollars.Put this another way for proper perspective.For every dollar spent for in the budget 70 cents of every dollar was for defense.Now how can anyone possibly justify bitching about the other 30cents on the dollar that is spent for the rest of the budget.Remember of out of that 30 cents comes 22 cents that funds social security.That leaves just 8 cents of every tax dollar to take care of all the other programs & government salaries.Where would you start cutting out of that 8 cents that would actually make a difference in your taxes.Seems like everyone that hollers about taxs & welfare have no idea about where the money is actually going.If you eliminate welfare all together,it will save you less than 2 cents on each tax dollar you pay.Less than $2 of every $100 you pay goes for welfare.Thats less than $200 dollars on every $10,000 you pay.How much you think you pay in unnecessary things like national parks & park rangers do you think you pay on every dollar.How about all the monuments to dead people that are built & maintained & guarded.Some people think these things are more important than human life or a child or disabled person eating or a kid getting an education.I think there`s damn sure out of kilter with this type of mindset.

Thank you Junkyarddog.A lot of people just don`t get the picture.They hear someone say somethingabout lazy people & crack whores collecting welfare & stereotype all as being the same.They forget all the success stories of the people that were able to pull theirselves up because of these program.How many went on to become productive members of society.The records are full of these stories.What if your whole family ,but your son or daughter died in an accident.This could happen at a time in life before you were well set to leave anything ,but debt behind.Would you want your child to be denied an education or shelter because there were no such programs.Us damn bleeding heart left wing liberals think of those things instead of just feathering our own nest.

There is one thing I like about being a democrat as opposed to my many years of being GOP.I am not restricted by an archaic code of ethics that is called conservatism,but is far from being conservative.We are allowed to think outside of the box.GOP is the same as being a clone.Nothing innovative there.I like my freedom to think for myself.
