friends: could not resist the temptation to stick my nose into the political blogs, since i could hear polliesboy's blood boiling and i wanted to call the paramedics & save him. god bless him, it is easy to crank out a rubber-stamped post regurgitating what the popular position happens to be. polliesboy is a gadfly and he tells us theories that make us uncomfortable and that force us to think. with all due respect to poofala, before she starts starving all of the people in this country that don't pull their own weight, she needs to realize that most of them are children who have only been guilty of being born poor. starving those who without ever having had the opportunity to better themselves is not conservatism, it is reactionary. welcome to haiti, now fend for youselves, we have "ours" ....... i was not born to wealth & privilege, i worked two jobs while going to law school at night. but the lesson that i learned was not the same. if we fail to care for those of us who are the least fortunate, we will pay more down the road, in unemployment benefits, expensive emergency room hospitalizations for neglected illnesses, and for prisons. senator mccain has an estimated household annual income of $6m. he was an admiral's son, and he walked out on his family to remarry a rich heiress. no role model for my daughter to follow. he would not know how much a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread costs in main street america. the families of our proud soldiers, sailors, and airmen know all too well. they also have figured out that osama bin laden's terrorists are in afghanistan, and that we were misled by fraudulent information when we placed their heroes' lives at risk. when we start acting more responsibly in the world theatre we will recapture the respect and admiration we squandered. jmo, junkyarddog
