Hi Polliesboy!Calm down guy...I'll give you a good reason "Iran".We are Monday morning Quarterback's when it comes to current event's as far as I 'm concerned.Watching how thing's are unfolding it seem's we are in the right place to deal with it.We are not privvy to what is really going on until after the facts.Just my opinion.I wish we could just pack it up and come home but the current world situation call's for action.I agree with you that for everyone we kill 2 more pop up.Sooner or later we needed to draw the line.Better sooner than later.Enjoy your day.

Well Dante 419.You may assess yourself as an armchair quarterback, but I feel my assessments go a little deeper than that.Beem following politics since I was in my teens. Its a family thing.Im 62 seen a lot of them come & go.Busk is By far the worst of all time.Thats going all the way back to George Washington.Closest comparison Ive seen to Bush is Benedict Arnold.Or Maybe John Jay.If you have studied the XYZ AFFAIR.

Here`s John Jays take on what he proposed for congresses rights. He advocated strong Executive power over comgress.Thank God that didn`t happen.

On the Subject of the Federal Constitution that the Articles of Confederation were too weak and ineffective a form of government. He contended that:

The Congress under the Articles of Confederation] may make war, but are not empowered to raise men or money to carry it on—they may make peace, but without power to see the terms of it observed—they may form alliances, but without ability to comply with the stipulations on their part—they may enter into treaties of commerce, but without power to [e]nforce them at home or abroad...—In short, they may consult, and deliberate, and recommend, and make requisitions, and they who please may regard them.

Executive power is limited in order to insure the safety from a military coup by the executive branch.President has the right to declare Marshal Law,but only for a designated period of time.Same as troop deployment. His C-N-C privileges are limited to specific terms.A president can not declare a state of war.Only congress can do that & it must be an overwhelming majority. The checks & balances are built in by the constitution.Bush on several occassions has tried to circumvent this rules by supplying false information to congress. He`s also continuously violated the 4th amendment.I wont be surprise if he isn`t invoking his 5th amendment soon.

I noticed that some people like a forum where people dont talk back.Other than that I wont respond.I keep hearing that congress only has a 18% approval rating.Thank god for the democrats or it wouldn`t be that good.I`ve heard it said that none of this crises is actually the fault of the dear old GOP,its Clinton`s fault for something he did in detroit in 1994.Of course property values had deteriorated to nothing in 1994 & Clinton help them out.Something that happened in Detroit 14 years ago.Has ruined the whole economy & caused the subprime crises, nevermind that the subprime hadn`t even gotten off the ground yet.Another hoot,Reagan actually had nothing to do with bank deregulation.LOL.Nows thats a good one.Maybe if some people down in Texas tried watching something besides Cowboys they might have noticed it when it was in the damn news everyday.
Like I said,No one hear has changed their mind about how they will vote.I dont care how you all vote.Just don`t try to lie to me & insult me by thinking I`ll believe it.Even without any of us changing our minds Obama has taken the lead in the polls by a couple percentage point again. Now when the average voters finds out his taxes are going to go up as much as 100% more, because of this damn mess,Who do you think they vote for.Believe me this will be coming out by the economist.Already heard a couple talking about it.One said it could be as much as three times as much.Hold on to your asses.

Bush wants $700 billion to bail out the housing crises, with no authority by courts to question how the money is used or distributed.Thats not asking for much,IS IT?Wonder who would get bailed out first.House owners or Bankers & big investors. He`s trying to pull another political coup it looks like.I might be wrong but I can`t see neither side of congress going along with the blank check policy with no authority over expenditures. He knows they wont go for it.He`s a real SOB.This will likely delay help.Which if we`re going to help Now is the time.Delay just makes it worse.I can`t believe he actually hates the American people that much.

Bush team, Congress negotiate $700B bailout.

How about Jimmy Carter now come on Pollie you can't get any worse than that and that's a fact. How about him bailing out on the Shah or better the Hostage situation.I'm sure you remember lining up for gas and wearing your cardigan to keep warm.Did'nt he discuss Nuclear proliferation with his 8 year old daughter Amy.LOL

I remember every bit of that, but ask yourself. What put us in that shape.Mainly the Vietnam war.As far as the Shah of Iran, you better go back a few more years. It was Nixon that told the Shah. You can afford to buys U.S arms if you raise gas prices. My friend 1973 was the year of the gas lines. The last year Nixon was in office.Do you also remember his wage & price controls whereas he would freeze everything for 3 months at a time. Then when they would be lifed for a short time the prices went crazy.Inflation ran amok for years after that.Go back & look & get your time frames up to speed. Now the thing that Carter done that was the real fiasco & you haven`t even touched on is the grain embargo against Russia. It broke the farmers. We had huge wheat contracts with Russia. When the embargo went into effect the price fell out of grain prices. The hostage situation was nothing he did.It was just an unfortunate thing that happened. If someone will tell me how he caused it,I`ll listen.

I spect he did discuss nuclear proliferation with Amy,but I don`t think you or I really believe he was seriously looking for answers from her.Why don`t you quit trying to put the Carl Rove spin on statements.Your not all that good at it.You haven`t did your homework.

condosian: i reside in ohio where unlike new york you cannot register as an independent. therefore you cannot vote in the primary election unless you declare democratic or republican. so i am a registered democrat. had to do something. the primaries limit our choices in general election so i needed to join up. the bush years raise incompetence to new heights. he and those who chant to his mantra need to get the bum's rush outta the door. but note that i also support a smart strong defense policy, i advocate leadershipwith thw world community of nations, desire a balanced budget, am pro-life but want hands-off women by government, cherish veterans and armed forces people, love the constitution & bill of riights, and like guns. junkyarddog

I have no freaking idea where this money is coming from! Are they printing the money without gold backing at Knox?
